Dodge County Middle School participated in the annual Hoops for Heart on Friday, March 12, 2010. All money raised benefits the American Heart Association (AMA). This year the students raised a total of $2,981.00. This money will go to the AMA to help pay for science and research to discover new medicines and treatments. This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of Captain Rickey Parks. The following students won in their respective grade by earning the most money, most foul shots, or most three point shots
Sixth grade winners were Stevie Crabb (money earned), Cameron Young (free throws), Jamia Troupe (Free throws), Shantajh Hines (three point shots), Dylan Lann (money earned), and Clint Thompson (three point shots).
Seventh grade winners were Annie Moore (three point shots), Jasmine Smith (free throws), Anfernie LeGreair (free throws), Devin Lampkin (free throws), Thomas Adcock (three point shots), and Akeya Mitchell (money earned).
Eighth grade winners were Morgan Sheffield (free throws), Calen Dennis (money earned), Markesha McCloud (free throws), Katie Selph (three point shots), Trenton Phillips (money earned), and Jay Cravey (three point shots).
