The Dodge County Indians played their final regular season game this past Friday night in Eastman against the Swainsboro Tigers.
The game was a must win region game for the Indians in order to advance to the playoffs.
The game was dominated entirely by the Indians.
Quarterback Landon Martin scored two first quarter touchdowns with a 13-yard run and a 34-yard run. Both extra point attempts by punter Mitch Tanner was good. The Indians dominated the first quarter and led at the end of the quarter by a score of 14 to 0.
The Swainsboro offense was completely shutdown by the Indian defensive team during the entire game.
The Indians continued to put points on the scoreboard during second quarter of play with a 15-yard touchdown run by Marlek Lamb and an 11-yard run by Kyle Glover. Both extra point attempts by punter Tanner was good and the Indians advanced their lead over the Tigers by a score of 35 to 0 at halftime.
The Indians continued to dominate in the third quarter shutting out the Tigers completely and put seven more points on the scoreboard with a 1-yard touchdown run by Roscoe Wilcox. The extra point attempt by Tanner was good and the Indians advanced their lead to 42 to 0. Final score of the game was Dodge County 42 and Swainsboro 0.
The Tigers were completely shutdown by the Indian defense and did not score any points in the game.
The Tigers were held to only seven first downs in the entire game and for only 49 total rushing yards in the game.
The Indians had 14 first downs in the game with 254 rushing yards. Martin had 77-yards in the game along with Lamb who had 75 rushing yards in the game.
The Indians had no fumbles or interceptions and had only three penalties in the game.
The Indians (4-6, 1-3) will travel to Baxley on Friday to play in the first round of the playoffs against the Appling County Pirates (8-2, 7-0). The Pirates are undefeated in region play and are ranked number one in the region.
