Saturday, October 19, 2013 will mark the fourth annual Milan Harvest Festival. There will be something for all ages to do and enjoy. Activities will start at 9:30 a.m. and the Dodge County High School JROTC will present colors at the opening ceremonies at 9:45 a.m. Danny Horne will sing the national anthem and the “Person of the Year” will be honored.
Poultry Palace highlights the events with their trained chickens again this year. An Air Evac helicopter will be on display from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. There will be a special section of children’s inflatable’s, including two slides, a maze and a bounce house. High profile citizens from both Dodge and Telfair Counties will be in the dunk tank all day.
Entertainment will begin after the opening ceremonies. There will be singing, children dancing, clogging and two Southern gospel groups. The entertainment winds down with the street danced, sponsored by Rhine Drugs and County Pride in Milan at 8:00 p.m. featuring Razor Willie Band form Macon.
Mandy, Devin and Carley Jones will direct the first Milan Harvest Festival beauty pageant. The pageant will be held at the Milan Gym beginning at 5:00 p.m. There will be divisions for girls from birth to 24 years of age.
