The Dodge County High tennis teams played one of three scheduled matches last week
The Indians and Lady Indians both won their matches with East Laurens on Monday, March 8. The Telfair County match was suspended due to rain and will be completed this week and the Houston County match was cancelled completely due to rain.
The Lady Indians defeated the Lady Falcons of East Laurens 8-0. Individual scores for the girls singles players were: Callen Carroll won 6-0, 6-0; Virginia Hargrove won 6-2, 6-1; Brianna Jessup won 6-0, 6-1. Doubles teams scores were: Roxan Stuckey and Shantoria Burns won 6-3, 6-4; Jamie Michael Jones and Hannah Moore won 6-2, 6-2; Katelyn Bollhorst and Kelsey Campbell won 8-2; Jessica Quionnes and Lauren Watson won 8-0 and Taylor Mobley and Kayla Edwards won 6-0. The Lady Indians are now 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the sub region.
The Indians defeated East Laurens 4-1. Singles winners for Dodge were: John Mark Carter, 6-0, 6-2 and Steven Zhang 6-0, 6-0. Doubles winners were: Rusty Selph and Shane McCranie, 6-2, 6-2 and Erik Evans and Will Vaughn, 2-6, 6-4, and 6-4. The boys are now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the sub region.
The tennis teams have matches scheduled with Bleckley County on Monday, March 15; will finish the rain shortened Telfair match on Thursday, March 18 and will host Toombs County on Monday, March 22. The seniors will be honored before the Toombs County match.
