The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Indian soccer season was the best yet with the Indians taking first place in region.
This was the first year that they have competed in region AAA. They made it to the “Sweet 16,” because of the dedication that each individual on the team displayed throughout the year. The entire team takes full responsibility for the success.
There are a few who excelled against other players on the other region teams that have been honored with the title of “All-Region Player of the Year” and “Honorable Mention” for this region.
These players are compared to others that play the same position that they do and statistics are looked at for each individual player. I am proud to say that DCHS players stood tall this year in this arena. We had a total of eight players that brought home region titles.
Cole Honeycutt, All-Region (junior); Hunter Augins, All-Region and Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Year for DCHS (junior); Greg Pittman, All-Region (junior); Jordan Cook, All-Region and Offensive Player of the Year for DCHS (senior); Jaye Moye, honorable mention for region and Defensive Player of the Year for DCHS (senior); Mitch Tanner, honorable mention for region (sophomore); Calen Dennis, honorable mention for region (junior); and Seth Palmer, honorable mention for region (senior). Augins and Honeycutt were also “Honorable Mention” recipients last year during their sophomore year.
Shelia Honeycutt, DCHS coach was named the Region Coach of the Year.
We have an abundance of up and coming talent that will be back to play for the 2014 Soccer Season.
We are looking forward to a phenomenal year.
