An Eastman man has been arrested and charged with two murders in Dodge County. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Nathaniel Lewis Cummings (age 38), of Eastman, was arrested on Monday, June 17, at approximately 12:30 p.m. at a Church’s Fried Chicken restaurant at 1808 Candler Road in Decatur. Cummings was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Cummings is one of two men that have been charged with the armed robbery and murder of Greg Giddens in Eastman on May 11, 2013, at his residence and the armed robbery and murder of Jimmy Gay on May 31, 2013, at a dumpster site on Harry Hargrove Road just south of Eastman in Dodge County.
Jeffery Madison (age 20), also of Eastman, has also been charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of murder in the cases.
Madison was arrested on Monday, June 3, 2013, in Bibb County after fleeing from the Georgia State Patrol in a stolen vehicle.
