The girls played a very talented Irwin County team in the cold. Kendal Adcock, Lacie Kemp, and Adele Harrison had several shots to the goal yet struggled to put the ball into the net. Keepers were Danielle Rogers and Jasmine Warrell who were challenged in several one on one breaks that couldn’t be stopped. The Lady Indians of Dodge were defeated 0-9.
The boys took the opportunity to redeem Dodge in the rain and cold by beating Irwin with by a score of 4-2. With Seth Palmer, Mark McDermitt, and Kaedon Rye as defenders and Taylor Screws as keeper it is hard to get anything by them. Irwins’ two scores were lucky corner shots. Scoring for the boys were Jake Ruffin, Rusty Pruett, Stephen Howell, and Kerry Gordon, assisted by Walt Turner, Damian Fowler and Jordan Cook. With good relief from Quinn Rolland and Justin Hardin they shared the ball as an aggressive and controlled team.
The soccer teams’ next games will be Thursday, March 11 at Central Macon. They will host another home game March 15 with start time at 5:30 and 7:30.
