On April 22, 2013 the Dodge County Indians traveled to Dublin to take on the Fighting Irish.
Lance Pruett was the starting pitcher for the Indians. Pruett pitched the complete game going seven innings, striking out two, walking three, and giving up seven hits and two runs.
The Indians scored early and often in this one. Dodge County scored 11 runs on hits by Jordan Smith who went three for five with two doubles, Cain Peterson was one for two, Lane Crummey was one for two, Aron Chick was one for three with a double, Lance Pruett was one for four with a triple and Josh Perdue was one for four.
The Indians beat the Irish 11 to two.
Tuesday, April 23, 2013 Dodge County hosted the Jefferson County Warriors.
With a win the Indians would lock up the Region 3-AAA championship.
Starting pitcher for the Indians was Chick. Despite some control issues he only surrendered three runs on three hits and struck out two.
The Indians had nine different batters with hits. Jonathon Perdue was three for four with a triple, Smith two for three with two doubles, Pruett two for three with a double, Peterson two for three, Hunter Graham one for two with a double, Andrew Hardy one for two, Crummey one for two,
Josh Perdue one for two and Chick was one for four.
The Indians scored 13 times to win 13 to three.
Dodge County won their third region championship in a row and started preparing for the state playoffs.
Dodge County hosted Treutlen County on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
It was senior night for the Indians and before the game Seniors Aron Chick, Lee Gaulke, Jordan Smith and Slade Yawn were honored and presented with gifts.
Slade Yawn got the start for the Indians. Yawn pitched five innings striking out three and allowing three runs but would get a no decision.
Smith came on in relief pitching two innings striking out two allowing one hit and one run to take the tough loss.
Hitting for the Indians was Josh Perdue one for one, Smith one for three, Hardy one for four, Peterson one for four, Pruett one for four and Yawn one for four. Treutlen County pulled out the four to three victory.
The Indians start their run at a state championship this Friday, May 3, 2013 at home.
They will be taking on Central Macon in the first round of the state playoffs.
