A Chester woman died after the car she was driving hit a train on Monday, February 25. Dorothy Lee Coley (age 72), of Chester, was driving west on Georgia 257 (Roddy Highway), when she failed to stop at the railroad crossing just before the Cochran Highway.
Her vehicle went through the railroad crossing arm and struck the eighth railroad car from the end of the train. The vehicle was knocked to the side of the tracks and flipped on its top. Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith pronounced Coley dead at the scene. The accident happened at approximately 9:07 a.m. (Photo by Chuck Eckles)
