We need to listen to our friends up north. They are telling it as it is about government-run, rationed medical care. If Obama’s socialized medicine plan goes into effect, we and they will go downhill quickly.
Canada doesn’t allow private health care, since people will then make comparisons. Socialized medicine advocates do not tolerate competition. Obama claims his plan will run alongside your present plan and you will be allowed to keep your current insurance plan and doctor. Do not fall for his smooth talk. Once in place, government-run plans quickly wipe out private medicine and force your adherence to the new plan. Your medical insurance will be worthless.
In British Columbia the government is suing a doctor for performing operations for patients who pay out of pocket for his services rather than get on a waiting list for government care. If their plan is so great, why do they fear competition from the private sector? You’d think they would welcome competition and appreciate individuals and doctors easing the financial burden on the government. It was always about vote-buying, never about improving the quality and availability of medical care. Obviously, when they tell you you will be able to keep your present plan and doctor, that they are merely streamlining the system, they are lying.
In the USA, we are getting free health insurance for illegals, courtesy of the Democrats. Are you still voting Democrat? If so, why? They’re still worse than the Republicans.
Congressman Dean Heller (R-Nevada) tried to stop this insanity but he didn’t have the votes. Congressman Heller offered a Republican-backed amendment that would have prevented illegal aliens from receiving government-subsidized health care under the proposed plan by Obama and the Demoleft Party. Democrats defeated the amendment. Every Democrat voted against it.
You could now find yourself standing in line behind a bunch of illegals who paid no taxes but are now demanding “free” treatment.
Who says both parties are alike? Republicans are still far better generally, just are not marketed properly. Remember, there are no conservative Democrats in Congress today. That talk is just vote bait. Under the facade they are all Pelosicrats.
“Big nanny Democrats want to ration health care for everyone in America - except those who break our immigration laws. Last week, the House Ways and Means Committee defeated an amendment that would have prevented illegal immigrants from using the so-called ‘public health insurance option.’ Every Democrat on the panel voted against the measure.”
Columnist Michelle Malkin
“What’s driving the American people who are for Obama’s Program??? They want FREE health care. Their thinking goes no further than that ‘everybody should have good, free health care available to them, it’s their right.’ Wrong. I hear this argument all the time. First, nothing is free. Somebody has to pay for it.”

Since the word socialism is a turnoff, they cleverly avoid the term socialized medicine, even though that’s what it is. For a while they called it “national health insurance,” then it was “health care” (two words) and now “healthcare” (now one word), as in “free healthcare for all.” Sounds good, doesn’t it? Of course, nothing is free. Also, who would now want to go to medical school under these conditions? We will be faced with serious doctor shortages under Barackocare. Maybe they can force people to attend medical school to solve the almost certain shortage to come.
“Realize that the doctor’s fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can’t socialize the doctors without socializing the patients.”

Please find me one person from a country with government health care who says one negative thing about our health care system. If we go to government health care, our health care system will be rationed and people will be denied care based on age and health. You might just be turned away for care under Obama's system. I'm not saying our system is perfect by any means. It definitely has flaws, including free care given to illegal immigrants. However, government provided, rationed health care is not the answer for this country. It is a bit silly to call someone uneducated when you present a comment in such a way.
I am not advocating the current plans that are going through the House and Senate, but I do advocate a common sense approach to health care that rewards doctors and patients properly and does not commit class warfare on the poor or the middle class. I certainly don't advocate rushing plans like the ones sitting in the House right now either, how silly is it to pass a 1000 page bill before anyone reads it or comprehends it? We already let the Senate live with doing the same thing with the Patriot Act -- we can't let them do it again.
In the end I haven't any faith in my government to be able to run a health care system -- but there has to be something better than status quo.
Tough decisions about health care must be made in this country. We do not need yet another -government-run - program. We must let our voices be heard in this debate. No matter if the media labels us all 'thugs' and accuses us of disrupting the dialogue. This is our country and our future. I am a Democrat, not a thug, and I will speak up and encourage you to do the same.
