Remember back when billion was a shock word? It’s still huge. A billion is 1,000 x 1,000,000. You could start spending $1,000 per day every day for 2000 years and you would have spent less than $1 billion. The amount spent would be a “mere” $730,000,000, still well under $1,000,000,000. That’s big bucks. A trillion in incomprehensible. It’s easy to spend someone else’s money, particularly when you can buy votes with it.

Commentator Dick Morris (dickmorris.com) predicted on 2-2-10 that Republicans will take over the U.S. House by 10 seats and the Senate by two seats in November. Let’s hope he’s right. Once again, spouting Conservative talking points with no proof. Just where did you get the info that Nancy Pelosi flies home to California? Some liberals may have a hard time with freedom of speech issues (no more than anyone else), but it seems Conservatives have trouble with the truth. Some don't seem to care as long it illustrates a point they are trying to hammer home.

and the BOOZE? common.... how could you not believe the Bill? at $10 a POP (yes they charge that much and more-- 100K wouldn't take much time at all with as much flying back and forth as she does.

Its OK to demand proof----- As I would like to see the reciepts myself---

But it is not OK to be naive enough to write this up to conservative LIES...

Pelosi has a problem..... and her entitlement is just a small part of it.

I have to wonder if perhaps there is an editorial responsibility to fact check regular columnists?

I promise you, If I get a weekly column you won't have to worry about me spouting lies and claiming them as facts. You will get honest, educated, reasonable opinions that will be controversial enough to sell papers and generate website traffic and it won't random sentences copied and pasted together from embarrassingly right or left leaning "news" agencies.

Sad writing really, I mean pointing fingers at one party, The Neo Cons that have taken over the Republican party waste just as much as the folks on the Democratic side, The funny thing is you miss the point, Everyone of the them are crooked as the day is long! Ron Paul being the only one not dirty, He reminds me of Serpico. I would not mention Anne the Man Coulter, She is an Hack just like that little freek Maulkin.

Uh...I know that Ron Paul is the only TRUE conservative in Congress, at least when it comes to fiscal responsibility. I was one of only about 3 people in Dodge County to vote for the man. The only reason I brought up conservatives is in response to the article that bashes everyone who is of any political ilk other than right wing.

Brother, you are preaching to the choir. This country's political parties seem to care more about winning the next election than doing what is right or what is best for the majority of the country. I understand voting for your principles, but I think that both major parties are completely corrupted and morally bankrupt.

Neither party can claim to hold the high moral ground on free speech, morality, or fiscal responsibility.

I hope Matt will get us some Ron Paul yard signs for 2012!

I live in Gwinnett County and voted for Ron Paul in '88 and '08. Only a handful of people in a large county did so. WorldNetDaily.com column by Bob Unruh has the receipts for San Fran Nan's booze. The $65,000 per week each way fuel cost is real, too. You won't see it on Katie News - I've never watched a minute of it. Don't forget - Ron Paul has no Congressional retirement program. He doesn't participate in it. There are a few other fiscal hawks in the House, also skeptical of foreign adventurism, for example, John Duncan (Tn.), Walter Jones (N.C.)and Jeb Hensarling (Tx.). Rand Paul U.S. Senate 2010 !(Ron's son, an eye doc in Ky.).
