One thing to never forget is to include God into the equation first. This may be some brutal truth for some people, but without including God, you just cover the problem and success won’t last. However, with God and prayer leading a support group… there’s no room for failure.
For the past few years, Mrs. Scarlett Driggers and Mrs. Debbie Mullis have been blessings sent by God. Just this year new blessings were added, one being Mrs. Sabrina Williams.
These wonderful people in the school system have poured out their energy and love to everyone in need. I thank God for them.
A program was started up to help families with concerns about their children at home and at school.
We meet the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the old Peabody school lunchroom. Drinks and snacks are provided.
I am a parent attending these meetings. The environment of these meetings is comfortable and non-judgmental. They are there to help in any way they can. The best thing about it is you don’t have to shy away from including God. We don’t preach, we just understand the importance of prayer. This program is used for an outlet to express concerns and problems and an inlet to gain knowledge about those concerns.
An example of a great support group is: 1. God the great counselor, 2. Your pastor or pastor’s wife, 3. School counselors, 4. Friends with a positive outlook, 5. Programs like this one.
You are not alone, God will bless you on your journey to new success.
