Before raising the millage rate, the board should have "reconsidered" some of their "created" job openings for certain people in the community. Many county school boards are cutting all part-time positions, and they certainly don't give themselves a pay raise. I hope the taxpayers will remember this during the next election. Citizens cannot continue to carry the burden for poor choices made in government, and I don't see our school board looking very hard for areas to cut; instead, they take the easy route - raising taxes. Many are struggling financially, and they cannot continue to be burdened with this continued lack of leadership.

You know, it is pretty poor government when the school board and administrators can give everyone a furlough, without pay, in these hard times. Instead of solving any problems, they are adding to people's troubles. Have they not thought of eliminating some of those un-needed positions and/or rescinding some of those raises??? As a voter, I will certainly remember thise on election day and I urge everyone else to consider it also.
