Dodge County Wrestlers were fully engaged over the holiday break traveling across Georgia to take on the best of the best.
Will Morgan, Kenzie Graham, and Aiden Greer took a shot at their first national level competition of the year by competing at the World Congress Center in the annual USAW Dixie Nationals. Billed as the toughest tournament this side of the Rio Grande, the Indians got all they wanted in tough battles against wrestlers from across America.
The Grappling Indians also traveled to Jeff-Davis HS to take on area power house Toombs County and Jeff-Davis. Coming up short in both dual match ups, the Indians got their nose bloodied by reining Area Champs Toombs County and look forward to a re-match at the upcoming Area Dual tournament.
The Jr. Grappling Indians were also burning up Georgia highways as they competed in Ringgold in the Tour of Georgia – Heritage event where Christian Grauberger showed his determination with a second place finish at 76 pounds.
Further south, Vincent Mannella, 57 pounds, and Anthony Mannella, 46 pounds, wrestled at the Jefferson New Years Classic where the older Mannella dominated the competition and brought home the gold medal.
Northwest of Atlanta, Sanders, 57 pounds, competed in the Blue Devil Classic in Bremen, winning a bronze medal for his efforts.
