Rains cause road closures

Several roads in Dodge County are under water where creek beds or pond damns have overflowed or broken.

The following county roads in Dodge County are under water and have been officially closed by the road department: Tom Pittman Road, Golden Road (dirt portion), Jim Pruett Road at Crooked Branch Creek, Joiner Creek Road, Jerry Farmer Road, Yancey Road between Hightower and LA Peterson Roads and Cofield Road.
The following county roads in Dodge County are under water but have not been officially closed by the road department: Airport Road at Bethlehem Church, Lester Saunders Road, Reedy Branch Road (paved section), Lake Destiny Road, Antioch Church Road (near Friendship UMC Church Road), Jerry Farmer Road, Betty Lane, Leonard Jones Road, Benevolence Church Road, Louis Harrell Road and Lower Rocky Springs Road.
Road crews are evaluating the condition of the road beds and more road closures are expected. Sheriff Jeff Hinson cautions motorists, for their safety, not to cross roads which are under water.

Rapid rain phenomenon is becoming really annoying. The climate changes are visible since many years and right about now we see more and more violent weather conditions.
