The Rhine Christmas Parade will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009.
This year’s Christmas Parade grand marshal is Jimmy Dowdy.
Dowdy is a Rhine resident and employed at Bread and Butter, located in the heart of Rhine. He is known all over town for his vibrant red golf cart decorated with his personal touch, two American flags flying on both sides. Dowdy is also known for his pure bred, true love of the town.
He was born and raised in Rhine and is the son of the late Durden and Evelyn Dowdy. He is the youngest of four children with three older sisters, Jane Lann (Tony), Sandra Harrell and Durlene Williams (Cary). He has many nieces and nephews that love him dearly. He graduated from Rhine Elementary and Dodge County High School.
Everyone in Rhine knows Jimmy. His nicknames are “Dowdy”, “Jam” and “Jimbo” but most often everyone, including family, calls him “JimmyDowdy” as if it were one word. He is a true Rhine figure and Rhine wouldn’t be the same without “JimmyDowdy!”
Take care and our family is number 1.
