Recently, the Grappling Warriors traveled to West Laurens Middle School to compete in their debut wrestling match against three power-house wrestling teams. In this inaugural season, coaches expect the first Dodge County Middle School wrestlers will have a tough road ahead as they face off against much more experienced wrestlers.
Competing against West Laurens, Dublin, and East Laurens teams, the Grappling Warriors displayed the heart of lions and sportsmanship of true champions as they nervously stepped on the mat one by one to face tough opponents. Led by co-captains Jacob Danforth and Chandler Cannon, the warriors are working extremely hard to build the future of Dodge County Wrestling.
Competing for the warriors were JT Shields, 75 pounds; Austin Soles, 80 pounds; Brandon Roland, 85 pounds, Jacob Danforth, 90 pounds; Trey Mosely, 95 pounds; Seth Braswell, 100 pounds; Witt Campbell, 105 pounds; Cole Honeycutt, 110 pounds; Andrew Hardy, 115 pounds; Brandon Lunsford, 135 pounds; Chandler Cannon, 160 pounds; Keenan Evans, 175 pounds; Walker Stanley, 180 pounds; and Aaron Spires, 215 pounds. Tad Honeycutt, 100 pounds and Tyler Gruben, 189 pounds didn’t compete due to injuries.
The next Grappling Warriors wrestling match is scheduled for December 3 back at West Laurens Middle School at 5:00 p.m. Come out and support the Dodge County Middle School Grappling Warriors.
