The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Eastman Police Department hosted the monthly meeting of the South Central Traffic Enforcement Network (SCTEN) of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) last Friday night. Deputies and officers enjoyed a wild hog supper and a short training meeting. Law officers from multiple agencies of the GOHS then held several nighttime safety road checks throughout the county.
State, county, and municipal officers made multiple arrests for driving under the influence (DUI), suspended licenses, no insurance, no tag and a host of other traffic charges. Deputies also recovered three (3) fugitives who had outstanding warrants from jurisdictions outside of Dodge County.
Clyde Mitchell (age 41) of Rhine, was arrested by deputies and charged with possession of marijuana at one of the road checks.
Dodge County Sheriff’s investigators arrested James Bernard McRae (age 41) of a McRae address, on November 19 and have charged him with theft by taking. McRae allegedly stole parts of a car and some scrap metal from a property owner in Milan.
Sheriff’s investigators arrested Calvin Lee O’Neal (age 35) of Eastman, on November 18 and have charged him with theft by taking. The investigation revealed that O’Neal allegedly stole tires and diesel fuel from his employer Wayne Goodrum Trucking.
Monica Elizabeth Peacock (age 25) of Eastman, was arrested on November 10 by Sheriff’s investigators. Investigators have charged Peacock with four (4) counts of theft by taking. The investigation revealed that Peacock allegedly stole from her employer, Wahl-to-Wahl Grocery, in Chauncey.
