To whom do you give honor?

Dear Editor,

When you hear someone say that the truth shall set you free they should be reminded that it’s true when you know the truth and act on it. One should be more concerned about what they don’t hear instead of what they do hear. We are entering the season when everyone is saying how thankful they are but their actions convey a different story. Life is one of the greatest gifts that have been given to mankind.
Thanksgiving is one of the times that people come together to show their thanks but I often believe that we lose sight on the real reason for giving thanks. The one we should be giving thanks to, we seem to put him in the back seat of driving except when we have a real problem. We seem to spend more time on the worldly side of the house than the spiritual side.

Worry is one of the most destructive habits. Worry is the advance interest one pays on things that seldom happen. One great joy should come in the giving. One should not give until it hurts but until it feels good. One’s earthly greatest loss is their self-respect. The loss of one’s self-respect will always fit the bill. One’s most satisfying work should be in their helping someone. When you help someone, don’t se it as a job but a way of life.
Our greatest natural resource is our youth. If we want to have and keep a strong community we must invest in the youth. One of the greatest problems to overcome is fear. Some fear is natural but one should not allow fear to become so great that it immobilizes them.
The most crippling, failure disease is an excuse. One of the funniest things about an excuse is it doesn’t satisfy the one who makes it. The world’s most incredible computer is the brain. Rest assure that whatever your brain records it will replay it back again at some point in your life.
The deadliest weapon that belongs to mankind is the human tongue. The tongue is the one part of your body that is full of poison and will never be under control until it is cemented to the roof of one’s mouth.
The most beautiful attire is a smile. A smile is the one thing that can convey a message. It can make one feel good or sad. When life gets difficult, you don’t know what to do and have gotten to the point that you’re tired of living and yet are afraid to die, then this is truly a time to turn to the Lord Savior.
To live is one of the rarest things in the world but there are thousands that will choose just to live. The one thing that is worse is to just exist.
We were not created to fit in but to stand out. God did not create you to make everyone love you but you are to love everyone. The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you.
It is so sad that so many will reach the point of death, only to say, “Oh God, I never learned how to live.”
