Writer James Delingpole on Telegraph.co.uk notices similarities between British Prime Minister Tony Blair and U.S. President Barack Obama. James is not a fan of either. Among other similarities he finds these:
“And both do (or did) the things dodgy political leaders always do when the going gets tough at home and their domestic audience finally wises up to how totally useless they are: they hop on the plane and pose as international statesmen instead.”

“From TheAbsurdReport.com - a good question: “What is the difference today and the ‘Imperial Presidency’ Obama ran against in 2008?”
Radical leftists feel Obama isn’t radical left enough and are attempting to find an opponent even more liberal than Obama is, if that is possible, to run against him.

Democrat former “frontrunner” Howard Dean (remember him?) likes to rail about the “hate-wing” of the Republican Party. It’s funny how leftists think the other side is full of hatred while spewing incessant hate themselves. Liberals usually accuse others of doing what they do themselves.
“Freedom is coming to mean little more than the right to ask for permission.”

A billion is still HUGE. The entire market capitalization of Southwest Airlines is $6.52 billion ($6,520,000,000). For that amount you could buy every share of stock in the company. Many analysts say Southwest is the best-run airline.
Do you believe in polls? The Gallup Poll two weeks before the 1980 election showed Carter 47% Reagan 38%. Carter outspent Reagan also. The Reagan blowout swept 12 Republicans into the Senate and tipped control to the Republicans. No one seemed to consider the possibility of that happening. Walter Cronkite told us on election eve that the contest was “too close to call.”
Another faulty poll: the Texas A&M football team was ranked in the pre-season Top 10 and finished 6-6.
The trouble with Mitt Romney: “He seems to be the perpetual ‘We’ll take him if nobody better comes along’ candidate,” says Steve Tobak.
One report says the USA is on track to become a net fuel exporter for the first time in 62 years, says HotAir.com writer Tina Korbe. One important catch to this:
“The fuels we export are at least partially dependent on the oil we import. The possibility for energy independence is there - but the administration’s policies will likely continue to conspire to hamstring domestic energy production.”

Stephen Cox on LibertyUnbound.com calls Jon Huntsman “the candidate from the New York Times.”
