Rhine Police Chief Kip Herman Cravey (age 36) was arrested on drug charges and booked into the Dodge County jail on Thursday evening, January 5.

Cravey was arrested by agents of the Oconee Drug Task Force as the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff's Department, Eastman Police Department and the Oconee Drug Task Force.

Cravey, of Eastman, is facing at least two charges and may face additional charges. Cravey has been charged with one count of unlawfully distributing schedule II narcotics after he allegedly furnished more than two dozen "Soma" pills to another person during the investigation.

Cravey has been charged with one count of criminal attempt to purchase schedule II narcotics after Cravey allegedly attempted to buy Roxicodone pills from another person during the investigation. Cravey may face additional charges according to law enforcement officials.

Due to safety concerns, Cravey has been transferred to an undisclosed jail. The Superior Court of Dodge County has set a $20,000.00 bond for Cravey.

Hey Cherokee, i dont see your comment about Kip, yes he was one of the officers here you gave so much credit to and look where he at so that let you and everyone else know that its not only blacks dealing drugs and then kip was in law enforcement.

Please let me sleep and don't wake me up.I am still tired from my skiing trip to Colorado for the holidays,thank you. Kip,who? I don't remember giving this guy credit for anything except for doing CPR on my dog.
By the way drugs doesn't know whether one is a man,woman,boy,girl or if the person is yellow,red,purple,black,orange or white. So what does this have to do with all the tea in China? Not a thing.

Well, maybe some of the families of the addicts can finally get some relief....at least for a little while. They are the true victims of this whole mess. No mercy here for the users or sellers. I think Mr Cravey's punishment should be for his child, if he has one, to become an addict and let him see firsthand what his line of business does to others. Been there.

Anyone that is saying for someone's cild, or any child for that matter, to become an addict is clearly WRONG!!!! Yes, what Kip done was and is wrong, but going as far as wishing something like that on a child is just about as low as ANYONE can get!! I know Kip has 1 child for sure, because THAT CHILD IS MY NEPHEW!! What happens when that child reads the post about someone saying that he should become an addict??? Kinda messed up don't you think?? Or did you really think????? Also think its messed up that the DODGE COUNTY NEWS would post any kind of comment like that on their page, but go figure!!! I dont think so If you have truly been there you dont wish any child to become an addict.Any person would not wish any persons child to become an addict,yes what Kip done was wrong and should be punished ,but why should a child. well said Michelle and geturfactsstraight. I understand why you would be upset, I would be too. One thing about it is we will always have ignorant people among us. No child is responsible for the actions of their parents. But before someone post a comment on this site they should think and look for a perfect person. I do not think they will find one. We need to live by judge not because by that same measure we will also be judged.

Poor little Rhine Georgia,first they have an ex-clerk who stole thousands of dollars and didnot get charged with a felony and now they have the police chief charged with dealing drugs.
Well Rhine the Feds might be to see you like white on rice. There seems to be corruption all over the place,someone other than June Sheffield(ex-clerk) and Kip Cravey(ex-police chief)knows what is going on down there. I think this is just the start of things yet to come.

Kip was probably doing his own undercover investigation of someone dealing drugs in Rhine meanwhile in the process he got caught with is hands in the cookie jar.

To All that are jumping up and down and rooting for this Kip"s down fall then you might as well stop singing and dancing becasue I am sure the judge will take a look at the positive things Kip has done in his life not only the charges he face and therefore he will probably get no time near as what a low level street dealer would when his sentencing come about.

In small towns in Georgia it is not what you know but who you know and the positive things people have known you to do with your life. when you look at the overall picture he has been one of them that had to put him in custody and I don't think those good old boys have completely turned their backs on Kip.

Pretty soon this will be old news for Kip then we will be blogging about someone else. This is why it is called news becasue it just keeeps going and going just like the energizer bunny only to stop one article long enough just to start another.

All are persumed innoncent until proven guilty in a court of law. Kip,I don't know you or your family but my prayers are with you becasue this is a christain thing for me to do for you at this time. keep your head up and all this will be over for you soon then you then you can get on with the next chapter of your life. No man should rejoice at another's downfall(but this is human nature) because he never knows what tommorrow will bring for him(could be somethigng worse),only God Knows.
