Dodge County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two (2) individuals in connection with the identity theft of an Eastman man. Dodge deputies took Kenneth Thompson Williams (age 24), and Chelsea Loraine Fair (age 20), both of Knoxville, Georgia, into custody on December 19. Each has been charged with one count of identity theft along with multiple counts of financial transaction card fraud and forgery.
Sheriff’s investigators state that the alleged offenders came into possession of the Eastman man’s identifying information along with debit/credit cards and checks. Investigators state that some of the transactions committed by the suspects were captured on store video surveillance cameras. Dodge investigators traveled last week to Knoxville and served a search warrant at the suspects’ home with the assistance of the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators recovered items purchased by the suspects at the expense of the Eastman man along with other evidence of the alleged crimes.
The theft of pecans remains a hot issue for landowners in Dodge County. A landowner recently called the sheriff’s office to report three (3) people picking up her pecans without permission or compensation. Sheriff’s deputies caught the individuals in the act and arrested the three alleged thieves. Anthony Wade Carr (age 31), Twindalyn K. West (age 34), and Arnold Wright (age 44), of Eastman, have been charged with theft by taking in connection with the case. Upon arrest, it was discovered that Carr had outstanding arrest warrants out of the Laurens County Superior Court and the Eastman Recorder’s Court.
Dodge County sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen Ford Mustang over the Christmas holidays. As of press time, reports on the incident were incomplete.
