The Oconee Drug Task Force (ODTF), Dodge County sheriff’s deputies, and Eastman police officers served a search warrant at a residence on Smith Street in Eastman on Friday, December 9. Law enforcement officers seized a significant quantity of suspected cocaine and cash from the residence as result of the search. Agents have charged Jerome Carson (age 54), of Eastman, with two (2) counts of the sale of cocaine along with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
A state trooper made a traffic stop on Griffin Street in Eastman which led to the seizure of suspected marijuana and the arrest of the driver, Teriek Kamel LeScott (age 20), of Eastman. As a result of the traffic stop, ODTF agents have charged LeScott with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Two (2) former employees of Shorty’s Quick Stop #4, on the Soperton Highway, have been arrested by sheriff’s investigators for felony theft by taking. Investigators state that the owner discovered a scheme in which the owner was defrauded of several thousands of dollars by the employees. The owner turned the matter over to the sheriff’s office. The manager of the store, Lisa Ann Gibson (age 41), and Latrena Renae Morgan (age 25), both of Eastman, have been charged with felony theft by taking in connection with case.
Sheriff’s investigators have arrested Terrance Messer (age 19), of Eastman, and charged Messer with burglary. Messer is alleged to have broken into a home on the Chester Highway recently.
Dodge sheriff’s investigators have arrested two (2) men in connection with the burglary that occurred on the Friendship Church Road on Saturday, December 10. Mark Anthony Fordham (age 21) and Joshua Charles Westbrook (age 22), both Eastman, have each been charged with burglary and felony theft by taking.
Dodge deputies arrested Kevin Lee Wright (age 36), of Eastman, on December 3 and charged Wright with theft by taking. Wright allegedly stole several items including batteries and an oxygen tank from an Eastman man and sold them for scrap metal.
Dodge County deputies received reports of damages to mailboxes all over the county late Thursday night into Friday morning. Deputies have solved the case and four (4) arrests are expected in the vandalism case. As of press time there were expected to be near thirty separate counts of damage to property on each of the vandalism suspects in the case. Deputies state that evidence from inside the perpetrator’s vehicle, which was left at the scene, helped lead to the quick solving of the case.
