The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to make arrests for thefts, burglaries and drugs. Sheriff’s investigators have arrested the third alleged offender in the burglaries that occurred on Nobles Road and West Chicken Road. Lemaritre Allen (age 22), of Chester, has been charged with two counts each of burglary, theft by taking, and criminal trespass in connection with the investigation.
Sheriff’s investigators have arrested Christopher R. Abernathy (age 23) of Eastman and charged him with felony theft by taking. Investigators allege that Abernathy stole a car dolly from a location on Grimsley Drive near Eastman.
Dodge County deputies conducting traffic stops have resulted in two drug arrests recently. On Monday November 21, a deputy stopped a vehicle on the McRae Highway near Jaybird Springs Road. The deputy observed that a passenger in the vehicle had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted which lead to the discovery of a quantity of hydrocodone pills which were in a pill bottle labeled to another individual. The driver of the vehicle, Charles Henry Davis, Jr. (age 43), of Eastman, has been charged with illegal possession with intent to distribute of a controlled substance.
On Sunday, November 27, a traffic stop on the Cochran Highway also lead to the arrest of a man on drug charges. John Christian Turner (age 29), of Jacksonville, Florida, has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and various traffic charges.
