Poster child presented
Noble Russel Curry, Past Potentate of Al Sihah Shrine Temple, presented Katie Huggins, poster child for the Al Sihah Shrine Temple for 2009, to the Dodge County Shrine Club, along with a very interesting program concerning Katie’s treatment by the Shriner’s Hospitals since birth. “Katie was born premature (29 weeks) and was given very little chance of living. The doctors had basically given up on Katie from birth. The parents were told that she would have brain damage and never be able to walk. The Shriners asked Katie’s parents if they would let the Shriner’s Hospitals work with Katie. After several surgeries, Katie is able to walk today. “All of the medical care, travel costs and lodging for Katie and her parents were provided by the Shriners at absolutely no cost to Katie’s parents”, said Noble Russell Curry. Pictured (l-r) with Katie (front and center) are ladies of the Dodge County Shrine Club’s Ladies Auxiliary Linda Kimmons, Johnnie Knight and Joy Weeks.; Back row (l-r) Noble George Thompson, Potentate of Al Sihah Shrine Temple, Lady Lavern Cranford, Noble Russell Curry, Past Potentate of Al Sihah Shrine Temple, Ladies Nita Mullis, Louise Hardwick and Tonya Dennis.
