The Greer Foundation in collaboration with the Dodge County High School JROTC Battalion recently hosted the first Warrior Up! Challenge.
The event was held the day after Veteran’s Day at the Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department. Designed to push runners beyond what they would typically experience, the Warrior Up! Challenge was a military style trail run.
Runners sprinted, jogged, crawled, leaped and cavorted through a two-mile course consisting of obstacles, mud, gravel, water, scrub brush, dirt and grass.
Although the weather was less than ideal (we had to cut the frozen lock with bolt cutters to get into the venue!) 41 runners of all ages participated to test their physical toughness, stamina and simply buck-up in honor of America’s fighting men and woman.
Thomas Rogers squeezes through the pipe obstacle and battles the muddy water on his way to winning the adult male division in the first annual Warrior Up! Challenge.
First Warrior Up! Challenge is successful despite weather

Thanks to Bodie Gray and staff at the Rec Dept for working with us to pull off this first event. Also, thanks to Wes Bearden, Robert Graham, Tom Cranford, Joey Jones, and Rozar's Alignment & Muffler Shop. It was a great event...
