NOTICE OF REFERENDUM
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS
OF DODGE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, GEORGIA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 8th day of November, 2011, a special election will be held at the regular polling places in all the election districts of Dodge County at which time there will be submitted to the qualified voters of Dodge County for their determination the question of whether a special sales and use tax for educational purposes of one percent shall continue to be levied, imposed and collected on all sales and uses in Dodge County for a period of time not to exceed twenty (20) calendar quarters and for the purpose of raising not more than $14,000,000 of net proceeds by said tax, which shall go to the School District for the purpose of (i) adding to, renovating, repairing, improving, furnishing, and equipping existing school buildings and other buildings and facilities useful and desirable in connection therewith, including, but not limited to, bathrooms, additional classrooms, physical education/athletic facilities, HVAC and flooring, lighting and paving; (ii) acquiring technology improvements, including safety and security improvements, computer technology, software, and instructional technology; (iii) acquiring new school equipment, including, but not limited to, photocopiers, textbooks and band instruments; (iv) acquiring, constructing and equipping new school buildings and facilities useful and desirable in connection therewith, including, but not limited to, athletic/physical education facilities and auditorium and storage facilities; (vi) acquiring any necessary or desirable property, both real and personal, the maximum amount of the projects to be paid with sales and use tax proceeds will be $14,000,000.
The ballots to be used at such referendum shall have written or printed thereon substantially the following:

Shall a special one percent sales and use tax for educational purposes be imposed in Dodge County for a period not to exceed twenty (20) calendar quarters and for the purpose of raising not more than $14,000,000 of net proceeds by said tax, which shall go to the School District for the purpose of (i) adding to, renovating, repairing, improving, furnishing, and equipping existing school buildings and other buildings and facilities

Any brochures, listings, or other advertisements issued by the Dodge County Board of Education, or by any other person, firm, corporation, or association with the knowledge and consent of the Board of Education, shall be deemed to be a statement of intention of the Board of Education concerning the use of the proceeds of the general obligation debt to be issued in connection with the sales and use tax for educational purposes.
The several places for holding said referendum shall be at the regular and established voting precincts of the election districts of Dodge County, Georgia, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the date fixed for the referendum. All polling places will be open.
The last day to register to vote in this referendum shall be October 11, 2011, through 5:00 p.m. Mail voter registration applications must be postmarked on or before October 11, 2011.
Those residents of Dodge County qualified to vote at such referendum shall be determined in all respects in accordance with the election laws of the State of Georgia.
This notice is given pursuant to a resolution of the Dodge County Board of Education adopted on July 14, 2011.

The last day to register to vote in this referendum shall be October 11, 2011, through 5:00 p.m. Mail voter registration applications must be postmarked on or before October 11, 2011.

Jack Warren, Surveyor, dated December 1, 1965, which plat is recorded in the Office of the Clerk of Dodge Superior Court in Plat Book 6, Page 279, and being the same property described in a deed from Mrs. Lorene P. Cooper, acting by and through her attorney in fact, First Federal Savings and Loan Association of McRae, to First Federal Savings and Loan Association of McRae recorded in Deed Book 114, Pages 559-560, said Clerk’s Office.
Said deed was given to secure the payment of a promissory note in the principal sum of $131,778.71 as well as any other debts now owing or hereinafter incurred by DAVID S. CONNELL or his assigns, together with all extensions and renewals thereof in whole or in part whether evidenced by a new note, extension agreement or otherwise.
The said DAVID S. CONNELL having defaulted in the payments due on one or more of said note(s), BANK OF EASTMAN has declared the entire indebtedness secured by said deed to secure debt due and payable and the power of sale contained in said deed has become operative.
The undersigned, through its attorney at law, has given notice to bind the maker of said deed to secure debt and note for attorneys fees in the amount of Fifteen (15%) percent of the principal and interest all as provided for in said deed to secure debt and attorneys fees will be claimed.
The proceeds of sale will be applied first to the payment of all debts secured by said deed to secure debt, all unpaid taxes and assessments and expenses of sale, including attorney’s fees and the remainder, if any, will be paid to the person or persons legally entitled thereto.
