Another faulty poll: “In August of 1994, a year when Republicans made historic electoral gains, Democrats were actually ahead in Gallup’s generic poll.”
Mark Hemingway
A good read on ElvisNixon.com, just type in three words on a search: Beware Republican Frontrunners. The situation changes quickly and former frontrunners are quickly forgotten.

Bumper sticker of the Day: God Bless America and the blue states too.
A good group to join: AMAC.us Association of Mature American Citizens, the conservative alternative to the very liberal AARP, which claims to be non-partisan. AMAC claims to be partisan honest folks. They are unapologetically conservative. It’s open to all Americans 50 and older. They’ll take you even if you are immature at 50 or older.
“Congress seems to want to cure every ill known to man except unconstitutional government and high taxes.”

A big risk in voting Demoleft: Obama still smokes cigarettes, vice-plagiarist Biden has had an aneurysm and next in the line of secession would now be John Boehner, Speaker of the House. Before the Republicans took control of the House, next would have been Nancy “San Fran Nan” Pelosi. I still say this is the world’s largest freak show.
Someone on activistpost.com figured it out: “If you owe $6,000 on a credit card with a 20 percent interest rate and you pay the minimum each time, it will take you 54 years to pay off that credit card. During those 54 years you will pay $26,168 in interest rate charges in addition to the $6,000 in principal that you are required to pay back.” Nope, I pay it off every month and have two ten-year old vehicles with high mileage.
“It is even harder for the average ape to believe he descended from man.”

It embarrasses me to hear establishment Republicans enthusing about some “conservative” Democrat they have just heard. I remember MSNBC’s increasingly liberal Joe Scarborough back in 2008 praising Virginia Democrat Senator Jim Webb as “very conservative.” The very liberal Webb, retiring after one term rather than go down to defeat next year, has only voted conservative some 15 percent of the time (acuratings.org) during his five years in the Senate.
Joe Scarborough should know better. When Webb ran for the Senate he had Al Gore, Bill Clinton and John Kerry campaigning for him. I flushed MSNBC years ago.
In the 1940s and 1950s General Douglas MacArthur warned us to avoid land wars in Asia. President Truman and several of his successors ignored his advice and we have paid a hefty price since. I can’t imagine what he would say about our endless involvement in the Middle East.
It’s the same story every year: Democrats label Republicans as the “party of the rich” yet Democrats in Congress are richer overall.
“It’s an ancient tactic: when there’s no honor on your own side, sully the honor of the other side.”

Amen! “Bill Clinton and Al Gore deserve each other. America deserves better.”
