Deputies make more drug arrests

Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Eastman man on drug charges early Saturday morning on October 1. The arrest took place after deputies were called to Cofield’s Trailer Park on the McRae Highway. Trey Victor Atkinson (age 28), was charged by narcotics investigators with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.

Dodge deputies conducted a traffic stop on Fish Road just outside of Eastman on Wednesday, September 28. Deputies arrested the driver on drug charges and recovered some stolen commercial grade copper wiring. Cliff David McCranie (age 29), of Eastman, was charged with possession of marijuana. Deputies believe the commercial wiring was stolen from the Alcoa Plant in Eastman. The investigation is ongoing.

Also on the September 28, agents and deputies assigned to the Oconee Drug Task Force searched a residence on Fish Road and arrested three people on drug charges. Lauren Hawkins (age 29), of Douglas, Tabitha Anne Payne (age 37), and Jack Elmer Holt (age 34), both of Eastman, were booked into the Dodge County jail and were charged with manufacturing marijuana. Holt has also been charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon and with violating his parole in connection with case.

Dodge County Sheriff Jeff Hinson says that Dodge County citizens can confidentially report suspected drug dealers and drug activity directly to him or any sheriff’s deputy.

i think that people that do this kind of stuff needs to stay in jail from now on untill they learn from their mistakes.
