County commissioners have a dilemma as to what they can do about building the new jail.
Back in November of 2007, Dodge County voters passed a six year extension of the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax that included $5.5 million to build a new county jail. The $5.5 million figure was used after the State of Georgia promised to have state inmate labor help build the jail, saving the county approximately $2 million.

Well I don't believe there is a shortage of inmate help. But there would probably be a shortage of guards to guard them during the construction. Also putting dangerous weapons in the criminals hand, there seems to me there would have to be plenty of guards. That is just my thoughts.
