The Dodge County High School Lady Indians wrapped up regular season play with games against Northside Warner Robins and Vidalia. Dodge defeated Northside 9-1 on the road in a make up game. Dodge hosted a good Vidalia team to wrap up the season play and fell by a 6-3 score.
The Lady Indians will begin post-season play this Thursday as they host Swainsboro in a double header starting at 4:00 p.m. A split in the double header will force a third game, which will be played on the road.
Dodge wasted little time jumping on Northside. Jaye Hilliard opened the game with a bunt single and a stolen base. Clair Greer followed up with a double for a 1-0 Dodge lead. Blakelyn Bundick got the big hit of the inning with a single with two outs scoring Bundick and Katie Selph for a 3-0 Dodge lead after the first inning.
The Lady Indians bats remained hot in the second. Greer got her second RBI of the game with a single that scored Annie Moore for a 4-0 Dodge lead. Caitlyn Greer was next and her single scored Lauren Belflower for a 5-0 Dodge lead after two innings.
The Dodge lead was 5-1 before putting the game away in the fifth. Bundick got her third RBI of the game as she singled out Katie Selph for a 6-1 lead. Jamie Yearty singled home Nikki Graham and Dodge took a 7-1 lead. RBI hits from Madison Mullis and Annie Moore would give Dodge a 9-1 lead and that would be the final. Selph would be the winning pitcher for Dodge.
Dodge host Vidalia last Thursday in their regular season home finale. Vidalia started strong as they scored four runs in the first for a 4-0 lead. Dodge just couldn’t get the big hit as they posted single runs in the third, fourth, and sixth innings, but, they would come up short for a 6-3 final. Caitlin Greer, Yearty and Moore had RBI’s for Dodge in the game.
