Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a reverse drug delivery sting operation at a residence on Park Street on September 14.
Deputies intercepted a significant quantity of marijuana, which was to be delivered by a private package carrier to an individual at the residence. Deputies hid inside the delivery truck and accompanied the driver to the intended address. Deputies exited the truck and arrested the suspect when he signed for the package.
Sheriff’s deputies have charged Brody Jackson Thomaston (age 24), with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in connection with the investigation. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence and seized other items connected to the alleged crime to be used to distribute the marijuana.
Dodge County Sheriff Jeff Hinson said that the package was shipped from an out of state location to Eastman. Sheriff Hinson went on to say that the investigation is continuing and that more arrests are possible in the ongoing investigation into the marijuana distributing operation.
Sheriff’s narcotic investigators arrested an Eastman man on September 13 and allege that he sold cocaine during one of their undercover operations. Investigators have charged Jackie Baxter (age 23), with one count of the sale of cocaine.
Sheriff’s deputies and a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) ranger arrested a Chauncey man on drug charges as a result of a traffic stop last Friday night on the Popular Springs Baptist Church Road near Jefferson Davis Road.
Jim Robert Foskey (age 33), has been charged with possession of cocaine, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and for having open containers of alcohol in a vehicle.
Deputies were called to Dodge County High School on Monday, September 26 after school officials seized three (3) bags of marijuana from a student. Sheriff’s deputies have charged the fourteen (14) year old male juvenile with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute on school grounds.
Sheriff Hinson says that Dodge County citizens can confidentially report suspected drug dealers and drug activity directly to him or any sheriff’s deputy. Sheriff Hinson reminds citizens that sometimes it takes time to build a case with enough evidence to obtain search and arrest warrants on places or individuals. However, the piece of information that you provide officials could be crucial in helping bring the cases to court.
Sheriff Hinson went on to state that it takes a community help, cooperation and involvement to get drugs and dealers off the streets.
