Lady Warriors remain undefeated, beating East Laurens and Bleckley

The Dodge County Middle School Lady Warriors remained undefeated in their 2011 softball season as they won a pair of region games. On Tuesday, Dodge hosted East Laurens.

The Lady Warriors used strong pitching and defense for an 8-0 win. On Thursday, Dodge traveled to Cochran to play Bleckley County. Dodge scored in every inning and coasted to a 10-0 win.

Dodge will be at home this Saturday as they host Diamond Day at the Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department. Dodge will play Vidalia at 10:00 a.m. and West Laurens at 12:00 p.m. Dodge will play West Laurens number two at 2:00 p.m.

Dodge began their week last Tuesday as they hosted East Laurens. Dodge got an early run as Allie Parkerson singled in Kylie Dix with a two out single and Dodge lead 1-0. Dodge increased their lead in the second. Kaylee Peterson and Julianna Belflower scored runs and Dodge got out to a 3-0 lead after two innings.

Dodge put the game away in the third. Lizzie Massingill singled in Margaret Simmons and Peterson drove in Massingill for a 5-0 lead. Peterson would score the third run in the inning for a 6-0 Dodge lead. Dodge would wrap up the scoring in the fourth as Simmons and Parkerson scored runs as Dodge would take an 8-0 win. The winning pitcher was Haley Holloway as she pitched a complete game shutout as she threw but 39 pitches with only four balls in the game.

On Thursday, Dodge played in Cochran against Bleckley County. Dodge took a 4-0 lead to the fourth inning before scoring five runs in the fourth and one in the fifth for an easy 10-0 win. Massingill went three for three with a triple and a run scored for Dodge. Allie Parkerson added a pair of hits including a triple and two runs scored. Leah Creech scored three runs in the game. Lindsey Crummey, Margaret Simmons, Chelsey Brady and Briana Perdue all scored runs for Dodge County.
