There will be a runoff election between Sandra Dupree and Karen Cheek for the District 4 Special Dodge County Commissioner's Election to decide who will fill the remaining term of the late Archie Dupree.
With the votes tallied from Lee, Chauncey and Mitchell precincts, Sandra Dupree lead the way with 194 votes. Karen Cheek came in second with 130 votes.
Tommy Barrentine came in third with 76 votes and Michael Ashley came in fourth with 33 votes.
The runoff election will be held on Tuesday, October 18.
Dupree's term will end on December 31, 2012.

To the voters of Dodge county, you ought to be ashamed,you have no right to gripp when your to sorry to get out and vote . You say you don't like whats happening in America, but again your to lazy to get out and vote. We say we don't have a good choice to choose from are you willing to do the job??????. You'll have another chcance to show if you believe in the system on Oct 18th. get off your backside and vote for what you believe in or you'll have 4 more years of O'bama, and thats just plain bad for this country as we know it.

What were the criteria for the run-off? 194 to 130...Please post the criteria in the paper so there will not be any confusion as to why there is a "run-off." If there were any posted before, please refresh my memory.

In order for there not to be a runoff, one of the four candidates would have had to garner 50% plus 1 of the total votes cast in the election. This did not happen, so the two top candidates are put into a runoff.

It is a shame that only 433 people got off their behinds to vote.

It was only school board elections and showing how they have been doing, people most likely don't care.
