Three more arrests have been made by the Dodge and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Offices in connection with the multi-county theft ring. On August 30, sheriff’s officials announced the solving of the theft ring and the first of four (4) arrests in the case with additional charges and suspects to be charged with the theft ring. Dodge County sheriff’s investigators have tied the three additional alleged culprits to burglaries which occurred on the Lofton Jones Road in Dodge County.
On September 7, Dodge sheriff’s investigators arrested Sandra Horton (age 47), of Hawkinsville, and charged Horton in Dodge County with two (2) counts of burglary and two (2) counts criminal damage to property in connection with the case. On September 8, Dodge investigators arrested Cliff Eli Brown, of Hawkinsville, also in connection with the theft ring. Brown has been charged with fifteen (15) counts of burglary and fifteen (15) counts of criminal damage to property in Dodge County. A third man, Travis Lee Sharpe (age 38), of Hawkinsville, is in custody in the Pulaski County jail on charges there and is awaiting bond on Pulaski County charges. Dodge sheriff’s investigators plan to charge Sharpe in Dodge County with theft by receiving stolen property in connection with the multi county theft ring.
A total of seven (7) individuals have been charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft by taking, criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and theft by receiving stolen property in connection with the theft ring investigation. Dodge sheriff’s officials stated that no other arrests are expected in connection with the case.
Dodge sheriff’s officials have solved another burglary that occurred on West Chicken Road back in the spring. Sheriff’s officials have charged Clayton Jonathan Boutwell (age 21), of Eastman, with burglary in connection with that case. Boutwell has been in custody since July 5 on another burglary charge. Sheriff’s officials state that Boutwell was not associated with the other suspects in the multi-county theft ring.
Eastman police investigators assisted Dodge sheriff’s investigators in solving the recent theft of some air conditioner units on Ragan Avenue off the Soperton Highway outside of Eastman. Officials have arrested Frank Gregory Black, Sr. (age 44), of Eastman, and charged Black with felony theft by taking in connection with the theft of the air conditioners.
Dodge County sheriff’s deputies arrested William David Gay (age 36), of Eastman, on September 2. Gay has been charged with forgery and theft by conversion by deputies. Deputies allege that Gay was in legal possession of a pickup truck that was titled in someone else’s name. However, Gay allegedly forged the truck title and sold the truck to another person.
