The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests the week of February 16 through February 22, 2021.
Charlie Baisden, age 40, of Stone Mountain, was a hold from DOC.
Michael Davis Carrigg, age 41, of Eastman, was arrested for simple battery and disorderly conduct.
Hadrian Crichlow, age 40, of Stone Mountain, was a hold from DOC.
Keith Curtis, age 31, of Milan, was arrested for probation violation.
William Mahon Helton, age 30, of Eastman, was arrested for probation violation, possession and use of drug related objects and trafficking in cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana or methamphetamine.
Joseph Brandon Black, age 44, of Delason, New York, was arrested for failure to maintain lane, possession and use of drug related objects, marijuana-possess less than one ounce and DUI-driving under the influence of drugs.
Marci Leann Courson, age 30, of Milan, was a walk in for contempt of court.
Tatiana Crichlow, age 28, of Stone Mountain, was a hold for DOC.
Randy Faye Floyd, age 33, of Cochran, was arrested for driving while license suspended of revoked, no insurance and obscured or missing license plate.
James Ray Hon, age 35, of Eastman, was arrested for aggravated assault.
Ricky Tremayne Knighten, age 33, of Cuthbert, was arrested for expired or no license plate or decal, suspended license, no insurance, speeding in excess of maximum limits (state speed and zone limits) and giving false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement.

Dodge County cheer team wins state championship
Congratulations to the Dodge Indians competition cheer team who brought home a state championship in the AA classification.
This is the first state championship title for the cheer team in Dodge County history. The team travelled to the Macon Centerplex on Monday, February 15, 2021 and put on their best performance of the year. The team looked confident and had nothing but smiles throughout the routine.
The team had struggled all season with COVID restrictions. Due to quarantines, the girls were having to constantly change positions in the routines. The difficulties they faced throughout the season made them that much better under pressure situations.
With the full team being on the floor, the team looked at ease. Senior Madison Durden had this to say about their victory, “this is the best way I could have ended my cheer career. It’s amazing.” “I am so proud of these girls and the way they persevered.
They had It tough this year but never gave up”, stated head coach Tammie Lewis. The team placed a full 2 points ahead of the state runner up and inter region rival Bleckley County.
Congratulations to both teams on their memorable seasons.
Team members include seniors Madison Durden, Amy Elizade, Caroline Scarborough and juniors Morgan Parker, Ashlee Knowles and Kaylee Knowles . Under classmen include sophomores Amelia Godfrey, Ashlyn Grauberger, Kate Jones, Gracie Mann, Shelly Rogers and Camryn Vaughn.
Freshmen are Sara Beth Cadwell, Janay Davis, Georgia Hardy, Cali Martin, Taylor Rogers, Harmony Smith and Dezzi Thomas. The girls are coached by Tammie Lewis, Sheena Orange and Penny Thomas.

Dodge deputies confiscate drugs
Deputies respond to dumpster divers turns into drug arrests
On January 24, 2021 deputies responded to a call on Georgia Highway 87 South to the dumpster site where they were told three people were in the dumpsters diving in the trash.
Upon the deputy’s arrival they found Jimmy Paul of Eastman, age 54, Kelly Burnham of Chatsworth, age 40 and Shelly Allen of Chester, age 25, digging through trash dumpsters.
As the deputies conducted their field interviews they quickly realized that there was more going on than just some people going through dumpsters. As they spoke to the three, one of them threw something that struck one of the dumpsters making a loud noise and when the deputies went to see what had been thrown, they found an assortment of suspected drugs.
The suspected drugs found were over a half-ounce of suspected methamphetamine as well as five grams of suspected heroin, which is considered a trafficking amount and digital scales, baggies and syringes were also found.
A white male, with a Dodge County address, driving a Mazda Miata was arrested and will be charged with trafficking of illegal drugs (methamphetamine) as well as the vehicle being seized by the Sheriff’s Office.
Dodge County Sheriff Brian Robinson insists that his deputys stay vigilant at all times while on patrol and to seek out illegal activity, which ensures that the good citizens of Dodge County are protected and kept safe from drugs and drug dealers.
The sheriff urges citizens of Dodge County to report any activity that they think may be illegal or dangerous.
