Dear editor,
Death is not welcome at any time and especially at Christmas or other holidays.
After eight months of fighting cancer, my precious husband, Lawrence Rogers, was diagnosed with
pneumonia. After a three week battle, he wanted to change his address and was happy to declare his desire to be with Jesus for His Birthday and that’s where he went for Christmas.
We are all doing well drawing on the “Joy of the Lord” for our strength. I have truly experienced God’s word is true and, PTL, God has given me supernatural peace. We are also thankful that God gave us a gift of letting him tell us he was ready and that it was his desire to go; and 2 hours later, he did.
We all know that:
1) Everyone will die one day.
2) You die alone.
3) You have to leave your physical body to go to heaven.
4) Most people don’t want to go right now.
Well, Lawrence figured it out and was happy to make his earthly departure and go live with Jesus. He just set the example and went ahead of us. Our new family theme song is “When We All Get to Heaven.”
The Lawrence Rogers family, Ken Rogers family, Robert Pruitt family, and Don Parkerson family would like to express how blessed our community is to have Dodge County Hospital and its dedicated, caring staff to be there for the people of Dodge and surrounding counties ready to minister and serve this area.
We fell in love with Dr. Lou Barker, Dr. Habigaile Cribe and the ICU nursing staff who were so good to giving him excellent care during his last days.
We are happy to report, All is Well, Good is Good, and Jesus is LORD.

R.I.P. Country music legend Charley Pride, age 82, of apparent COVID related illness.

Wealthy liberal Democrats spent over $100 million in Montana’s U.S Senate election to stop Republican Steve Daines’ reelection in November. He won anyway. Big media will whine about Republicans spending big bucks to win but seldom say anything about heavy Demo spending. When Steve Daines won that seat six years ago he ended 100 years of Democrat control of it, an incredible one party string. Last week Senator Daines was helping campaign for the January 5th Georgia runoff.

Letter to the editor
Dear editor,
American culture in general, values the good of the individual over the good of the community.
Nowhere do we see the failures of that culture more acutely than with this new enemy of the people (COVID-19) pandemic.
State leadership, and national leadership, democrats who were, and still are taking advantage of a world crises to undermine a sitting president in successfully getting their guy in the Whitehouse. Do you not remember Chicago mayor Raham Emanuel saying, “ Never let a crises go to waste”.
The so called leaders of this country have failed the nation, bringing about the worst infection rate and silly controversies around mask wearing, social distance, and temporary movement restriction have turned into a divisive political statement about American liberty.
I remember “The greatest generation”, my parents! That sacrificed daily during WWII, is long gone now.
In its place, 21st Century America, we have a shallow, uncaring, selfish, and downright lazy ass population incapable of the slightest grand gesture of sacrifice for patriotic purposes. Or the common good.
This rock we call America, and the demographics of it, consider wearing a mask to fight this deadly pandemic is a violation of their civil rights, and thinking of others is NOT in their DNA. It’s every man for himself, if you get COVID-19, you cam handle it. Do you not remember seeing these young feckless hooligans showing their butt in our streets in a so called peaceful protest not wearing a mask, torching business, looting, creating mayhem, and murder over some rogue cop who acted independently of a homicide.
Just a question for you up and coming future of our country millennials, what about the potential deadly fallout as a result of your selfishness? The doctor who treats you has plans for his future, yet places your welfare above his own, the nurse who treats you may have a family to go home to, or not, if she gets sick from your disease. Lets assume you survive, but were complicit in the deaths of those who saved you.
The likelihood of you ever knowing who died taking care of you is remote. But at least you know that you exercised your right to NOT wear a mask. When I think of you, quiet candidly, I feel like taking a bath.
This is sure not your granddad and dad’s America.
At 73 years old, at least I still have memories of what America use to look like.

T-shirt message from last summer: OANN.com. That’s all it said, actually was a golf shirt. Sounds inoffensive, doesn’t it. The shirt belonged to Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy. Someone told Gundy’s star running back that OANN was a conservative organization and the player told Coach Gundy it offended him. The player-activist made a big deal out of it. Gundy should’ve told the player where to go but he apologized instead – disgusting! The player had the coach grovel and make a public display of guilt. Big money talks and high profile coaches are well paid for their work. The game is played differently these days. If I see that Oklahoma State team on the television screen I immediately pull for the opposing team. Remember when coaches ran the teams?
