The Dodge County Middle School Warriors came from behind with a three run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat East Laurens 4-3 on Thursday, April 20 in the first round of the playoffs. Noah Cummings had the game winning hit. Landon Crummey was the winning pitcher hitting in the game. Noah Cummings went three for three with one run scored and one RBI and Landon Crummey went one for two with one run scored. [Full Story »]

The Indians traveled to Bleckley County for one of the biggest rivalries in Middle Georgia on April 18. Regardless of the outcome the standings would not change, but when Dodge and Bleckley play the records are not important. Craig Barton was the starting pitcher and pitched well. Barton went the full seven innings allowing four runs on seven hits with five walks and five strikeouts. Dodge’s defense had an outstanding game as well with three very timely double plays to stifle the Bleckley offense. The Indians were able to push across three runs on four hits. Dodge led the entire game and carried a 3-1 lead going into the bottom of the seventh. The Indians traveled to Macon to play Stratford Academy on April 10. Tyler Pruett was the starting pitcher going six innings allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Gary Pittman came in to close out the game pitching the seventh inning allowing three runs on three hits. Chandler Davis was two for three with a home run and two RBI, Tyler Pruett was two for four with two doubles and three RBI, Gary Pittman was two for four with a double, Kadin Burse had a single and RBI and Alize King added a single. Dublin came to Dodge on Tuesday, April 11. The Lady Indians stepped onto the pitch and commenced to running away with their game against Dublin. In the senior night victory Haley Holloway, who has 13 goals this season, got a repeat of her first meeting against Dublin, another hat-trick. Lee Creech who has 12 goals so far this season got her second hat trick as well. Jaida Ashley, Macy Rogers and Haleigh Pavesich scored one goal each. The final tally was 9-1 Dodge. [Full Story »] 

Dodge County is well represented this year as the high school’s men’s and women’s golf teams wrap up a season beyond expectation. This past week the men tacked on two more wins for a record of 12-2. The lady’s team added another win for a record of 8-3. The difference between total matches occurs when schools don’t have enough golfers to field a team. Low score members from the season include Michelle Zhang, Rachael Bohannon, Michael Clardy, Nathan Roland and Heath Sanders. [Full Story »]

The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Tennis team traveled to Dublin on April 11 to compete in the Region Tournament. Both the boys and girls won second in the region and will advance to the first round of the state playoffs. [Full Story »]

Tyler Pruett was the starting pitcher going the full seven innings allowing three hits with two walks and nine strikeouts and only giving up one run. Dodge County was sporadic at the plate but managed to push across three runs. Tyler Pruett was two for four, Chip Burch was one for three with an RBI, Alize King was one for three, Chandler Davis was one for two, Craig Barton was one for two and Ethan Rice added a single and an RBI. The Dodge County Middle School Warriors played host to Bleckley in a rematch decided by one run earlier this year on Monday, March 27.
The Warriors jumped to an early 2-0 lead after one inning thanks to a two run double be Seth Cossett. The second inning would see the Warriors bat around and scoring five times. The inning was capped off by a two run double by Griffin Durden and an RBI double by Peyton Smith. [Full Story »]
