Letter to the editor
Dear editor,
A new era has begun in America. God has saved our nation and the media did not win this time. We now have a President who loves America and is not ashamed of it. We have a man who will actually support and defend the Constitution. We are finished with the pathetic crap of the last eight years when Americans were scared to tell the truth and stand up for themselves without fear of retribution from their own government.
Those who use the First Amendment to promote Communism are enemies of freedom. The morons are attempting to create the very thing they espouse against. I am sick of special interest groups running the country and our lives. There is no positivity in their message. The Democrats are the party of whiners and freeloaders. They attempt to create a nation of slavery to their ideals.
There is no room for disagreement and discussion. The hate of the Democrats is abrasive and corrosive to free society. Their reaction against President Trump is merely fear of losing their free ride. American who see a chance of education, employment and responsibility do not want a free ride. They long for the American dream that can be obtained nowhere else on Earth and is never enjoyed unless it is obtained through one’s own efforts.
The Democrats have never understood that you cannot legislate love or equality, you can only get out of the way and it will happen in a benevolent society. A free society is always vulnerable to the filth of the Democrat party. The party of the Klan will fail; it will collapse under its own hatred. Self-serving politicians must be forced out if we ever hope to solve the problems that they themselves create. Americans have had it with the false claims and labels these people ascribe to anyone who disagrees with them.
We the people must rid ourselves of these parasites who seek only to maintain their lifestyles. America now has a strong leader to steer us toward our God given potential. Let us pray for him in this endeavor. God bless America!

It’s news if they say it’s news
Michael Brown was shot from the front. Black dental hygienist Miriam Carey was gunned down, shot in the back while driving away from the U.S. Capitol after making a U-Turn. Capitol police chased her car down the street and gunned her down, and got away with it. Her infant child was in the back seat and was unharmed. She will never know her mother. People do not seem to care about Miriam Carey. Why not? She was no threat to anyone. It’s the old “it’s news if they say it’s news” story.
Ferguson, Missouri is around 70 percent black, yet as of August 2014 when the town suddenly became famous, whites held most city offices, including white Republican Mayor James Knowles. Apparently the reason is voter apathy. Only 6% of blacks and 17% of whites voted in the 2013 municipal elections. “During the 2012 presidential election, 54% of blacks and 55% of whites turned out in November,” according to DailyKenn.com website.
Of course, the most important story in America continues to be the liberal demands to change the Washington Redskins nickname. I’ll bet you’re worried about this travesty. Fifty U.S. Senators, all Democrats (big surprise there) in August 2014 sent a letter to the team owners around the league, also the NFL commissioner and the Redskins owner, demanding the team change its nickname. No Republicans joined the fifty Demoleft losers. Some people will tell you both parties are alike but they aren’t. I keep telling them the Republicans, unlike the Democrats, still have some people worth voting for. Republicans generally avoid this nonsense – they’re too busy trying to reach out to voters who will never vote Republican.
“Thank you in advance for the great round of applause I’m about to get.”

Black conservative talk host Larry Elder says Gerald Ford got 17 percent of the black vote vs. Jimmy Carter in 1976. Ford lost, after guaranteeing he would win and that Ronald Reagan could not win. Ford’s guarantee was worthless.
Federal revenues doubled between 1980 and 1990 because of the Reagan tax cuts. The economic stimulus was unsurpassed.
Supreme Court justice Ruth “Sleepy” Ginsburg said she would consider moving to New Zealand if Trump became president. So far she hasn’t made the move. Her threat to go away probably helped Trump if it did anything. Trump 2016! Send Sleepy to NZ! She is another Bill Clinton liberal appointee and will turn 84 in March. [Full Story »]

Commissioners take no action on request for recreation budget hike
Dodge County Recreation Department Chairman of the Board Dr. Chip Stringer and Oconee Judicial Circuit Public Defender Steve Harrison both went before the Dodge County Board of Commissioners requesting they change the proposed budget they approved on December 29, 2016.
Dr. Stringer went before the commissioners requesting an appeal to their budget. He stated that they (the recreation department board) were not contacted when the commissioners met for their budget meeting and missed it and did not have any input and stressed that their budget was cut. He went on to remind commissioners that when he went before them at their December meeting, he explained how surrounding counties contributions towards their recreation departments compared to Dodge County.
Dr. Stringer stressed that Dodge County’s contribution was low, reminding board members that Dodge was paying $33.00/child; Bleckley County, $48.00/child and Pulaski County, $60.00/child. He went on to tell commissioners of the successes that the recreation department has hosted GRPA sub-district and district tournaments in softball, baseball and football and sent five teams to compete in state tournaments. The tournaments we hosted also brought revenue into Dodge County, stated Dr. Stringer.
Dr. Stringer explained that during 2016, operating funds had to be used to do maintenance and repairs that do not qualify for the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) such as plumbing repairs, irrigation, repainting concession stands, security system at Aloca building and adding speed bumps.
The recreation department took over their own maintenance in 2016 to help reduce their costs according to Dr. Stringer. He told commissioners their number of gallons of gas used was up, but that was where their budget had been cut. He explained that fuel prices were lower in 2016 than in 2015 and by all indication, fuel prices were beginning to increase in 2017. There are cosmetic issues and safety issues that need to be addressed at the current recreation department. Dr. Stringer requested a $30,000.00 increase in their operating budget, which would raise the cost per child to $38.00. No action was taken on the request.
Bids were presented to the board members from the recreation department for a new commercial grade lawn mower and new netting that goes behind the backstops totaling $27,978.00. The board of commissioners approved this request after interim county manager Bobby Peacock confirmed that SPLOST funds were available for the recreation department to purchase these items. Commissioner Terry Niblett abstained from voting.
Oconee Judicial Circuit Public Defender Steve Harrison then went before the board stating that he went before the board in December requesting an increase and that his budget had been decreased approximately $5,600.00. With the decrease, Harrison informed commissioners that his supplement since 2005 had also been decreased and he was taking it personally.
