The Dodge County High School basketball teams had one game last week before a Christmas break. The Squaws and Indians traveled to Jesup on Tuesday, December 20 for non-region games against the AAAAA Wayne County Yellow Jackets. The Squaws pulled out a 50-45 win for their second win against the Lady Jackets this season. Wayne County only has two losses this season so far and they both are to the fourth ranked (AA) Squaws. The Squaws are now 8-1 overall and 2-0 in region 3AA.
The Indians fought hard but came up one point short to the Yellow Jackets as they lost 57-58 as they missed a shot with four seconds left that would have won the game for Dodge. The Indians are 6-3 overall and 1-1 in region 3AA.

Letter to the editor
Dear editor,
Over 22 years ago my ex-husband Tommy Pittman and I lost our only child Jason to drug addiction. No he didn’t die from an overdose; he shot himself. He was placed on a ventilator for almost three days. When he succumbed to his injuries we chose to donate his organs. We not only donated his major organs but his skin and bone as well. We were even still able have an open casket funeral.
We preferred to stay anonymous, however, Life Link would forward us letters of gratitude from the recipients of our sons’ final gift. Thus that will always be Jason Pittman’s’ legacy. Please consider being an organ donor. It can save and improve so many lives.
Earlier this year we lost my wonderful mother-in-law Maggie Garrette Pruett. Due to the circumstances of her death she wasn’t able to donate her organs but she left her own legacy in a different way. Maggie was fairly well known in our community. She had a heart as big as the entire outdoors. She was a wonderful Christian lady who loved her family and friends and seldom met a stranger. Maggie did love her “fur babies” too!
She saved many dogs from certain death. I’m sure there’s a special place in heaven for people like that. The best gift she gave me was her son Ken Jones. Ken is a wonderful husband and his mother was very proud of him. I thank the Lord every day for him and his beautiful mother and all the precious memories we have of her.
One final thought. You can’t build a foundation of happiness on the sorrows of others; it will always crumble.

Dear editor,
Children are being short change because of our disobedience to the greatest birthday child Jesus Christ. Where are today’s biological parents? Do we not realize that children are just a gift to us? God’s holy word doesn’t seem to count anymore.
We constantly hear what our leaders say that they are going to do but they don’t seem to realize that nothing is done without the Holy Father. Same sex marriage and abortion are one of the worst shortcomings the younger generation is faced with. Many of our churches, as well as our schools, are failing in the area of discipline and holding our younger generation accountable for their actions. Man is shortchanging this nation with their words. Our laws are ignoring are deepest needs.
They are stripping away our heritage, while out lawing simple prayer. Gunshots continue to enter our schools and our children our dying. This nation would not be looking for answers if the citizens would turn back to God and His holy word. Americans seem to be forgetting that we serve a God who has seen our beginning to our end.
There can never be a greater down fall of this nation than the separation of the church and state, which must be the product of a biological home. While we are pledging allegiance to the American flag have we heard the pledge to the holy bible and the Christian flag? I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag and to the Savior for whose kingdom it stand.
One Savior crucified, risen and coming again with life and liberty for all who believe. I pledge allegiance to the bible and God’s holy word. I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its word in my heart that I might not sin against God.
Happy birthday dear Jesus, thank you for going to the cross and giving up your life and for paying the debt for my sins. You went down into the grave and came back to be with me today, tomorrow and eternity if I live by your holy word. You will always be the necessity that I cannot afford to live without.
May your love and peace continue to surround this nation. Lord bless.

Moonbattery.com has the Barack Obama legacy in one graphic – change in the number of Democrats since 2008: U.S. Senate -10.2% U.S. House -19.3% State Legislatures -20.3% State Governors -35.7%.
Thirty states voted Trump, twenty voted Clinton, but didn’t Obama say we had 57 or 58 states – remember that?
“Democrat losers need to keep the spectre of racism alive at all costs. It’s their main means of political survival.”

From TheoSpark.net (great website!) a picture of hideous Hillary in the background with the caption; “I sold 1/5 of America’s uranium to Russia then the Russian govt. gave $145 million to the Clinton Foundation. What a coincidence!”
Crooked Hillary is the first woman in U.S. history to lose two presidential elections: 2008 to Obama in the Demoleft primary and 2016 to Donald Trump in the general election.
Democrat Sidney Blumenthal was behind the Birther movement in 2008, which the Democrats blamed on Republicans, and Donald Trump in 2016 reminded voters of the truth. Dick Morris calls Sid Hillary’s “Chief Goon.”
“Donald Trump is right: It was the Hillary Clinton campaign that spread the rumor in 2008 that Obama was not born in America and, therefore, might not be eligible to serve as president.”

Succeed with your resolutions for 2017
By Bryan Golden
Almost 90% of Americans will make at least one New Year’s resolution.
Less than 20% will succeed in accomplishing even one.
The beginning of the year is a great time for life improving resolutions. Common resolutions include losing weight, giving up smoking, maintaining a budget, saving money, finding a better job, getting healthier, becoming more organized, and spending more time with family.
Whatever your resolutions, here are some specific strategies to help you succeed. First and foremost is to take the first step, which is to start. Without action, there will be no success. Action creates results. Intention alone will not work.
Have written goals stating what you want to accomplish. If you want to lose weight, how much and by when? If you want to live within a budget, what is the amount? If you want to continue your education, what school will you go to and which classes will you take?
Take small but consistent steps. Habits are formed by frequent repetition over time. Change occurs by the same process. A resolution is not all or nothing. Partial change is okay. Any progress in the desired direction, regardless of how small, is a success. Accomplishing a resolution is a process, not a one-time effort.
Positive goals are more effective than negative ones. Rather than saying you will eat less, resolve to have a healthier diet. Instead of spending less time at work you can endeavor to spend more time at home. Bad habits can’t just be eliminated; they have to be replaced by good ones.
