Dodge County High School (DCHS) opened their baseball season against non-region rival Bleckley County on February 16. These games never disappoint and this was no exception.
The Indians got down three runs early in the game, but fought back to tie the game at three in the middle innings. Bleckley would add a fourth run late in the game and Dodge came close a couple of times, but just couldn’t manage to get the tying run across.
Craig Barton got the pitching start for the Indians and pitched a strong season opener. Barton went 5 and 1/3 innings striking out four and walking four. He gave up three runs to the Royals.
Tyler Pruett came on in relief pitching 1 and 2/3 innings allowing one run, striking out three, and allowing no walks.
