Eastman-Dodge Kiwanis Club holds 23rd annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament

The weather was perfect on Saturday, May 16, as the Eastman-Dodge Kiwanis Club held their 23rd annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament. The tournament was held at the Dodge County Golf Course in Eastman.
Nineteen teams enjoyed the friendly competition, fellowship and the chance to win money prizes and bragging rights on that day. [Full Story »] 

Summer basketball camp to begin June 2

The Dodge County High School varsity boys will hold a summer basketball camp Tuesday, June 2 through Thursday, June 4. This camp will be for boys and girls, age seven to 17. The camp will be held at the Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. [Full Story »] 

Clardy and Holland compete at State

Two Dodge County High School golf team members competed in the state AAA sectionals on Monday, May 4 in Waycross. Representing the Indians was Michael Clardy and Kristin Holland represented the Lady Indians. Clardy made a strong showing by shooting a 91 at Laura Walker State Park. He missed qualifying for the state finals by four strokes. Holland qualified for state finals by shooting a 94 at Okeefenokee Country Club. She will travel to Roswell on Monday, May 18 and compete in the state golf finals.

Peterson receives scholarship

Derek Taylor recently awarded the Derek “Dee” Taylor scholarship award at Dodge County High School to Cain Peterson. The scholarship is awarded in memory of Dee who played baseball at Dodge County High School and Brewton Parker College. “It’s hard every year to keep doing this scholarship, but helping kids like Cain makes it worth it and it keeps Dee’s memory alive, which makes it all worth while,” stated Derek. Peterson is the son of Jonica Peterson and played football and baseball at the high school. Pictured (l-r) Derek Taylor and Cain Peterson.
