Mitch Tanner, a senior, was named the special teams player of the year. Tanner’s numbers on the season were one touchdown, eight field goals and 34 point after touchdown kicks. He also had seven receptions on the year for 93 total yards; one fumble recovery; and three carries for 19 yards. Tanner also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball as he has 46 total tackles, of those 39 were solo and 14 were assists; 11 sacks on the season; 15.5 tackles for losses; and six pass break-ups.
Six DCHS Indians, Landon Martin, Kyle Glover, Cain Peterson, Jacob Gurien, Devonta Floyd and Roscoe Wilcox were named to the first team All Region for 1AAA. Martin, senior quarterback, played 12 games and had 116 rushing attempts for 632 yards and 11 touchdowns; completed 54 passes of 91 attempts for 607 yards and five touchdowns and five interceptions; and scored 11 touchdowns and one two-point conversion. Martin forced one fumble and recovered two fumbles on the season.
