United Concerned Citizens for Unity and the local chapter of the NAACP will be hosting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK Jr.) parade on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. The theme of this year’s parade is “We shall not be moved.”
All parade entrants must be lined up by 12:00 noon on Second Avenue near the post office. All vehicles must be clean and presentable. Deadline to sign up for the parade is Monday, January 13, 2014. All late entries will be placed at the end of the line. [Full Story »]
Scott Reed ran Bob Dole’s disastrous 1996 presidential campaign. Dole lost and Scott Reid now works for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is now a senior political analyst for the chamber. Scott Reed says he plans to crush the Tea Party. Karl Rove, another high-ranking member of the consultant class, has also declared war on the Tea Party. These political “experts” claim they do not want any “losers” on any Republican ticket. Being losers themselves, they seem to specialize in recruiting same.
Karl Rove spent plenty of money in recent elections and never came close to winning any U.S. Senate seats nor the Presidential election, yet like Scott Reed, always manages to stay employed by the perennial loser crowd that hired both. These folks charge a lot for their services while producing little in results.

The phrase “job creation” is political jargon. A smart politician would not use such a phrase.
The working class understands better than most that jobs are a by-product of a growing economy. In a growing economy a growing number of people are able to participate. As people participate (work, purchase goods, etc.) lives are made better by each household’s growing economic means. With growing economic means goods are purchased generating a demand for more goods, hence, more work, more jobs and more people participating. [Full Story »]
