The honors continued for Dodge County High School Lady Indians Nikki Graham and Margaret Simmons. Graham, a Junior catcher, was named to the first team all-state by the region champion coaches in AAA. She hit .471 and lead the team in homers and runs batted in (RBIs). Simmons, a Freshman shortstop, was named to the second team all-state. She led the Lady Indians with a .505 average. She was also named region player of the year.
Leonard Floyd, a 2012 graduate of Dodge County High School, has been named to the South East Conference (SEC) All Freshman Team. He leads the University of Georgia defense with 6.5 sacks. He also has 47 tackles including 8.5 for losses. He has 22 quarterback hurries, a pass break-up, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick. Floyd and the rest of the Dawgs will play in the Gator Bowl against Nebraska on New Year’s Day.
The eight year old and under (8U) Middle Georgia Hurricanes softball team were undefeated champs in the Premier Sports “Adopt An Angel” tournament which was held in Cordele on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The Hurricanes fought hard that day playing teams from all over, they never gave up and stuck together through fifteen hours of tough, freezing cold softball. The Dodge County Middle School (DCMS) Wrestling team, also known as the Grappling Warriors, recently traveled to Cumming, to compete in a 10 team dual tournament at West Forsyth High School. At the end of the day, the Warriors had earned a record of five dual match victories and only one defeat against returning state champion Commerce Middle School.

The Dodge County Golf Club hosted their annual fall tournament in October. The tournament was held in memory of Randall Sanders and featured a great field of 19 teams. The teams were divided into three flights at the end of the 18-hole competition.

The Middle Georgia Impact won first place at the Seven In The Fall ten and under (10U) tournament on Saturday November 9, 2013 in Dublin. The Impact finished the day with a seven and zero record, improving their overall season record to 40 and eight.
