The Dodge County High School (DCHS) Indians began their 2013 season at home this past Friday night at Memorial Stadium against the Southwest High School Patriots of Macon. [Full Story »] 

The Dodge County High School Lady Indians varsity softball team was scheduled to play Bleckley County on Monday, August 19, 2013 and the junior varsity was scheduled to face Telfair County and Wheeler County on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 but due to weather all of the games were cancelled. The Dodge County Middle School Lady Warriors opened their season this past week as they played at Jeff Davis.

Dodge defeated Jeff Davis five to one. Dodge scored single runs in the first, third and seventh innings and they scored a pair in the fourth. Jessie Thomas had three hits and scored a run to lead the Dodge attack. Allie Varnadoe got the win on the mound giving up just one run while striking out nine. [Full Story »] 

It’s softball time again and Dodge County is expected to field strong teams at the middle school and high school levels. The Lady Indians bring back a strong nucleus from last year’s region championship season. Despite losing eight starters to the high school team, the Lady Warriors are expected to be strong as they have the strong 11 and 12-year old state champions team. The Dodge County Wrestling Club will be hosting its seventh annual “Kick Start” wrestling camp on Thursday, August 15, 2013 through Saturday, August 17, 2013. [Full Story »] 

The Dodge County Wrestling Club will host a “kick start” camp from August 15, through August 17, 2013.

Camp starts at 6:00 p.m. and is designed for wrestlers age six through 14 (and not yet in high school). [Full Story »] 

The Eastman-Dodge County Recreation Department cheerleading registration will be held August 5, 2013 through August 30, 2013.

Children ages six through 12 can sign up. The football season is scheduled to start on October 5, 2013.

The Georgia Elite Gamers participated in the American Softball Association (ASA) Southern Nationals in Tallahassee, Florida August 1 through August 4, 2013. The Gamers went undefeated in the tournament coming home with the championship and a berth to the 2014 ASA Nationals in Montgomery, Alabama. Team members are Morgan Taylor, Ashtin Burton, Holley Murphy, Morgan Edwards, Margaret Simmons, Chelsea Murphy, Nikki Graham, Alexis Longmire, Brooke Taylor, Allee Denney and Elizabeth Burton. Coaches are Mike Denney, Bubba Graham and Stan Burton.
