Bodie Gray submitted his letter of resignation as director of the Eastman-Dodge County Recreation Department to Ron White, chairman of the recreation department board on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
In his letter, Gray stated, “Please accept this letter as resignation of my position as director, effective February 3, 2012. I intend to offer a three (3) week notice to give the department an opportunity to seek suitable replacement and work through the transition of finalizing basketball and the start of soccer. Please know that I am committed to the remaining staff to assist them with a successful transition. The decision to leave the Eastman/Dodge Recreation Department after over 11 years of service has not come easy. It comes with long and careful consideration of all factors. I love this job, the duties of this job and most of all the children I have served. I feel the change will be beneficial to my long-term career goals and objectives. I assure you that I will complete any outstanding business affairs before my departure and the transition will be handled professionally to ensure no internal or external problems. I sincerely thank you for the opportunities, experience and knowledge I have gained at the Eastman/Dodge Recreation Department. I have so enjoyed working with the board, staff and community and I wish nothing but continued success for this recreation department.”
