For the first time, no school in the Dodge County School System met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), according to results released from the Georgia Department of Education on Thursday, July 21, 2011. Dodge County High School, Dodge County Middle School and North Dodge Elementary School did not meet AYP and South Dodge Elementary was classified as “Needs Improvement” (NI).
AYP is a formula used to determine if schools are meeting expectations under the federal No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). It is a measure of year-to-year student achievement on statewide assessments.
