Happy New Year! AARP has raised health care premiums for its employees - guess why. From CrushLiberalism.com:
“AARP jacks up their employees‘ health care plan costs due to the very same ObamaCare package they so heartily endorsed.”
AARP has sent an e-mail to its many employees (AARP is a huge outfit - very liberal also) claiming health insurance premiums will increase because of rapidly rising medical costs. The cost increase will run between 8 and 13 percent. [Full Story »]

Judging by the past three decades, there’s no worse fate than getting touted as the next global superpower.
The Japan of the 1980s did not end up owning the United States; it wallows in a never-ending “lost decade.” The European Union of the 1990s didn’t end up becoming a significant, unified force on the world stage; it will be lucky to hold together its currency. As Chinese President Hu Jintao visits Washington, his country has stepped into the well-worn role of the emerging power that provokes exaggerated fear and misplaced envy.
China is rising only because it partially adopted our economic system and plugged into the international markets we built and sustain. [Full Story »]

Almost instantaneously the horrific shooting in Tucson, Ariz., became the occasion for partisan hatred.
It’s one thing to charge your opponents with increasing the debt or serving the interests of the rich; it’s quite another to say they are accomplices to mass murder. In the ostensible (and always worthy) cause of civility, prominent liberals rushed to blame conservatives, and especially Sarah Palin, for the mayhem in Tucson. [Full Story »]

Dear editor,

I, for one, would like to ask the state of GA government why it is nearly impossible to report fraud within the state. One can find all sorts of information about stopping fraud in GA, BUT apparently stopping an unemployment check each week is impossible if the person is in jail, prison or a rehab center.
Before anyone says... well it’s the employers’ cash that they get.... it was the employers’ money while getting state unemployment. [Full Story »]

This was a Great Man. He had a Big Dream, but consider all the work he did, and you look at today.
The gangs, the juvenile crimes and the broken homes; his big dream seems to be dying. Why is this? I do not have any good answers to this, but we can stop all these double standards we seem to have around here. [Full Story »]

Dear editor,

Sometimes I wonder if anyone knows what the word Christian is supposed to mean. I was always taught it meant to strive to be Christ-like. Many churches just can’t seem to understand why they can’t grow in numbers of born again believers, or Christians. Nondefense discretionary spending accounted for $434 billion of the federal budget in 2008, without widespread deprivation or riots in the streets.
