Cooperation from sheriff’s offices of three different counties has lead to break up of a major theft ring covering two counties thus far. Sheriff’s investigators have arrested five people in the investigation. Dodge County and Pulaski County sheriff’s investigators first broke the case last Wednesday afternoon (August 24) and solved several burglaries which occurred in both counties. Sheriff’s investigators arrested Robert Johnson (age 42), of Eastman, and charged him with multiple counts of burglary, criminal damage to property and theft by taking on that Wednesday. Investigators also had leads that there were four other suspected individuals involved in some of the burglaries and thefts.
The following morning (Thursday) around 6:00 a.m., a Dooly County deputy sheriff stopped to check on a pickup truck on the Lower River Road in Pulaski County. The deputy believed the vehicle was broken down or out of gas. The deputy observed copper wire and scrap metal in the bed of the truck and detained the three (3) occupants for sheriff’s investigators.
Dodge and Pulaski sheriff’s investigators have arrested and charged the three truck occupants with burglary, criminal damage to property and theft by taking in both Dodge and Pulaski Counties. Investigators are still working on the case and have over one hundred fourteen (114) various counts just in Dodge County on the three alleged culprits along with another individual. The additional four charged suspects are Bradley Steven Mason (age 23,) of Hawkinsville, David Phillip Rickerson (age 39), of Macon, Alisha Deshotel (age 23), of Eastman and Amanda Huett (age 27), of Hawkinsville.
Dodge sheriff’s investigators have charged Johnson with burglaries and thefts from the following locations in northern Dodge County: West Chicken Road, Nicholson-Carr Road, Floyd Road, Roddy Highway, Kirkpatrick Road, Cheek Road, Dubois Church Road, Hardy Road and five (5) different properties on Lofton Jones Road.
Other locations in Dodge County which the other suspect have been charged include Friendship U.M.C. Road, Antioch Church Road, John Broome Road and Mitchell-Dye Road.
Investigators are still working on the case and additional charges are pending in both Dodge and Pulaski County.
